SOUTH Holland is gearing up to celebrate its culinary heritage at next month’s food festival.
This year foodies and their families will descend on Spalding’s historic Ayscoughfee Hall, where the grounds will host an array of stalls offering culinary delights on August 13 and 14.
The free event is being organised by South Lincolnshire College, the new name for Boston College in the area, and is supported by South Holland District Council.
Coun Nick Worth said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the very best of what South Holland can offer and demonstrate how the district can claim to be the larder of England.
“We are delighted that the college has taken on the mantle this year after the success of last year’s festival and we want to offer our unqualified support for this year’s spectacle.”
College Director of Corporate Services Janet Hemmant said: “The college is committed to working with and supporting its local community and we look forward to seeing as many people as possible at this very special event.”
To coincide with the festival we are running the South Holland Food and Drink Awards to celebrate our finest pubs, restaurants, cafes and food firms.
