AN audience of almost 200 garden enthusiasts from the district had an entertaining and informative evening on Monday at a recording of Gardeners’ Question Time.

The event was held at Springfields Events Centre in Spalding.

The presenter of the popular BBC Radio 4 show, Eric Robson, and his panel of gardening experts – Sunday Telegrapher writer Bunny Guinness, Landscape Man’s Matthew Wilson and The One Show’s Christine Walkden – answered questions on a range of subjects, including one from a member of the Donington in Bloom volunteer group about the possible use of banana plants as part of their annual village display this summer.

The programme will be broadcast on Radio 4 on Friday, January 20 at 3pm and repeated on Sunday, January 22 at 2pm.

Gardeners’ Question Time attracts more than two million listeners a week. Recorded in a different location each week, the programme has answered over 30,000 questions since its inception in 1947.

The panel members have been guests of a diverse range of gardening clubs and other organisations, including the London Transport Museum.
