A CROWD of 150 people enjoyed an afternoon of music when the Ukelele Orchestra of Spalding performed in Ayscoughfee Gardens.

Music from the past 100 years drifted through the grounds of the historic hall, as the orchestra performed the third of their summer concerts this year.

And after raising cash for good causes at their previous events, generous members of the audience handed over just over £100 for club funds.

Chairman John Baguley said: “It went very well and I would really like to say thankyou to the people of Spalding for their support and generosity.”

The orchestra is open to everyone – current members range in age from 14 to 82.

Rehearsals are held each Thursday at St Nicolas Church Hall, The Vista Spalding, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
