IT was full steam ahead for a successful third annual Weston Steam and Country Fair – even though high fuel prices may have kept some people away.

Organiser Pete Tyers said he was pleased with the turn-out of exhibitors of steam engines, stationary engines and tractors, but believes some trade stands were missing because of fuel prices.

And although the fair received a fair turnout of visitors, he believes a lack of signs may have affected some people.

Mr Tyers said: “It went well and we are now looking forward to getting plans under way for 2012.”

Other attractions included owl and greyhound displays and Zumba dancing.

Spalding Guardian photographer Tim Wilson was also presented with a silver tankard to celebrate 40 years in the job. Money raised will go to LIVES First Responders and Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.
