Primary schools at Moulton Chapel, Shepeau Stow, Spalding Goodfellow’s, Pinchbeck West and Cowbit St Mary were due to receive solar panel systems and a wind turbine so that pupils could see how the systems worked and test their efficiency.

The schools were winners in the Primary School Energy Project involving 4,000 schoolchildren and their families.

The winning schools were ones where 100 per cent of parents filled in questionnaires on how energy was used in the home.
