Maths was made fun at Gedney Church End Primary School when pupils took part in an activities day.

Every child took part in exercises designed to help them build confidence with numbers, such as bingo, beetle, battleships and a cooking lesson.

There was even an after school lesson so parents could hear about the way maths was being taught.

Maths co-ordinator Pam Bradbury said: “Many parents remember being taught the idea of hundred, ten and unit columns when adding. We are not allowed to teach that until children are nine.”
