Finlays the Tobacconists, which had been in Spalding Market Place since before World War Two, was serving its last customers.

Finlays was one of the oldest surviving businesses in Spalding, but was closing as a result of increasing costs and declining sales of tobacco products.

Manageress Dorothy Fovargue (right), pictured with part-time assistant Sylvia Pegler, had worked in the shop for almost 28 years.
