Community groups and local councils are invited to attend a free workshop that will outline what they will need to do in emergency situation and how they can assist the emergency services.
South Holland District Council has commissioned the Lincolnshire Association of Local Councils (LALC) to organise the events in the district later over the next month.
The workshops take place in Crowland, Holbeach and Spalding and cover the following issues:
• The benefits of consulting and engaging with your community and the consequences if you don’t;
• Who, why, when and how to consult;
• How a group can put a community emergency plan together;
• Introducing the idea of a community-based emergency plan for the community to use as a safeguarding tool in times of crisis until the emergency services arrive.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. The free workshops will take place between 9.30am and 4pm at the following dates and venues:
Crowland: Tuesday, March 22, The Youth Club Building next to the Abbeyview Surgery, Thorney Road PE60AL.
Spalding: Tuesday, April 19, Tonic Health, 6 Broadgate House, Westlode Street PE11 2AF.
Holbeach: Tuesday, April 26, Holbeach Community Centre, 46-74 Fishpond Lane PE12 7.
