Spalding and district will be travelling back in time to the war years this weekend.

It’s the annual Ayscoughfee 1940s Weekend in Spalding on Saturday and Sunday (10.30am to 4pm) and entry is free.

Visitors are encouraged to dress up in 1940s style to join in the many activities. There will be lots going on, including memorabilia displays, demonstrations, re-enactors, stalls and dancing and singing on both days.

Sunday’s events will include the annual VJ Day Remembrance Parade from 2.30pm in the Peace Garden.

South Holland Centre is joining in the 1940s spirit by showing two classic wartime films on Friday (7.30pm) and Saturday (6.30pm).
