FOUR South Holland Villages are celebrating after reaching round two of Lincolnshire’s Best Kept Villages and Small Towns competition.

Holbeach Hurn has made it in Class One for places with populations between 100 and 500, Moulton and Whaplode Drove are through in Class Two for villages with populations below 2,000 and Sutton Bridge is through in Class Three for places with populations of or below 7,000.

Moulton district councillor Andrew Woolf said: “We’re really thrilled to have gone through to the next round, but we want to go that extra step further.” Whaplode parish councillor Morris Stancer said: “We’ve not done that badly for a number of years, but it would be good if we did progress a bit further.”

The second round of judging takes place this month.
