Former Spalding man Duncan Miller (42) has been awarded a doctorate in medicinal chemistry by Newcastle University.

Duncan, a former pupil of Spalding Grammar School, is currently working at The Northern Institute for Cancer Research in Newcastle. 
He lives in the city with his wife, Alexandra. 
Duncan is the youngest son of Terry and Daphne Miller, of Halmer Gardens, Spalding.
