A CELEBRATION of the finest foods from Britain’s larder takes place in Spalding this weekend.
South Holland Food Festival is being held at Ayscoughfee Hall on Saturday (10am to 5pm) and Sunday (10am to 4.30pm), perfectly timed to coincide with British Food Fortnight and Sunday’s closing ceremony for the London Olympics.
The two-day free event combines everything to do with food and drink, with food demonstrations, sampling and opportunities to buy, entertainment and competitions.
Organised by Boston College, cookery demonstrations will be led by celebrity chef Rachel Green, Sage chef Carl Smith and Thierry Daugeron of Stamford Cookery School.
Entertainment includes Kirton Brass Band and children’s shows.
