On behalf of the Agapecare Foodbank Management Team and all our volunteers, I would like to greatly thank the many churches and schools in Spalding and the surrounding villages who have donated their harvest festival produce to us this year.
We rely heavily on these donations as they keep us in food well into the new year.
This means we can continue to serve those in crisis in our community, through your kindness and generosity.
Harvest thanksgiving, although an ancient tradition, is still valid today and is indeed a timely reminder that we cannot take it for granted in today’s society that all will have food in the cupboard, on the table or in children’s lunchboxes. But by working together as a community we can help those less fortunate than ourselves in times of crisis.
It is very rewarding when we see people who have had a ‘helping hand’ from the Foodbank get back on their feet again.
During this year we have given out over 560 food parcels to people in crisis.
So may I again say an enormous heartfelt thank you from the Agapecare Foodbank, Spalding, and also from the many adults and children your generosity has helped to feed.
God bless you,
Agape Foodbank co-ordinator
