Lincolnshire’s big skies have welcomed and hosted the training of airmen and women both in and out of uniform last century and this.
Fenland Airfield at Holbeach St Johns has played its part in more recent years and is holding an open day this Easter Saturday so everyone can go along and see how it works.
Admission from 10am to 3pm is free and there’s a bouncy castle for children to enjoy.
You can join a tour of the hangers where private and training planes are stored and listen to tower talks.
There’s plenty of enjoyment for the whole family on offer and the restaurant and bar will be open.
Trial flying lessons will be available at £65 for 20 minutes – with a weight limit and a maximum of three people per plane.
