FLOWER-lovers of the Saracen’s Head Flower Club handed over £1,115, the profits from a charity tea party to end all tea parties, to Vikki Allen from the St Barnabas Hospice at Saracen’s Head village hall.

The 33-year-old club’s 24 members nominated the hospice to benefit from their fourth annual tea party in memory of their demonstrator Elaine Dobney who died in February.

Her sister June Taylor made the presentation on the club’s behalf.

She said: “More than 75 people came to the party which had an auction and raffle.

“We’re still meeting every fortnight and taking it in turns to make a flower display. No one person felt they could stand in Elaine’s shoes.”
