Fleet Wood Lane Primary School raised £70 from its annual carol service which went to youngsters with life-threatening illnesses.

The charity Wish Upon a Star makes dreams come true for poorly children and a representative, Pat Wright, visited the school to talk about the charity’s work and collect the donation from members of the school council.

School bursar Sally Wilson said pupils were allowed to choose the charity and picked Wish Upon a Star to help children who are less fortunate than themselves.
