The group took part in several sporting events such as a 100 metre sprint race and long jump at Castle Field in Spalding.

Those who came first, second or third in the events won a medal, which they said they would treasure.

A few spectators also turned up to cheer on those taking part and to spend
some time basking in the sunshine.

Richard Thacker, from the Rotary Club of Spalding and Welland, said: “The day went very well.

“We, as a club, raise money throughout the year to put on events like this.

“Luckily, we were blessed with some sunshine and had a lovely sunny Sunday with the ladies and gentlemen from the Gateway clubs.”
