Spalding Lions are taking a stall in Spalding market on Saturday as part of World Sight Day. The club will be distributing leaflets highlighting the club’s involvement in sight and diabetes initiatives.
The Lions are being joined by local councillors and their friends from the local PHAB Group who are partially sighted or blind, together with their guide dogs.
The councillors will be taken for a blindfolded walk so they will be entirely reliant on their blind guide and his/her dog.
During the day members of the public will be asked if they too would like to find out what it is like to live in a dark world with adults, young people and children taking part in this experience.
Together with highlighting the difficulties faced by blind and visually impaired people the day will promote local awareness of the Lions organisation and the work it does locally, nationally and internationally.
