People in South Holland are grasping the opportunity to study new skills, develop their careers and learn something different, with research showing double the number of people left Boston College: Spalding with a new qualification this year.

The number of learners undertaking and achieving new qualifications rose by 1,000 to over 2,200, with research indicating more adults and school leavers are taking opportunities to study on their doorstep since the campus opened in 2011.

The new college delivers courses to those leaving school, adults looking to retrain and gain new skills, and businesses needing to up-skill their employees, as well as to people who simply want to learn a new hobby in their spare time.

There are currently over 80 courses in 20 different areas including accounting, computing, construction, motor vehicle and teaching, and not forgetting hair and beauty in the on-site training salon Style Academy.

To ensure everyone gets the chance to find out what learning opportunities are available to them locally, the college is opening its doors tonight from 5pm to 7pm.

Visitors will be able to find out more about the facilities, courses and the staff and students.

There’s no need to book and anyone can go along.
