A PUB in Spalding will play host to the last of eight summer music festivals this weekend.

The last date of the Keep Music Live Festival 2011 is this Sunday at The Birds, in Halmergate, as part of the pub’s Big Weekender for the Bank Holiday.

The event follows festivals at The Bell at Weston Hills, The Chequers at Holbeach, Moulton Seas End Playing Field, Tydd Gote Inn and The Birds earlier in the summer.

Co-organiser Dean Fitchett said: “We started off on Flower Parade Saturday and this is the last one of the summer. We have had eight in total across the area and it has done what we wanted and helped to promote our local bands.

“We are putting on the most popular bands of this year’s Keep Music Live events – Black Shampoo, Kamikaze Hot Shot, Remains of the Day, The Sound Injectors, Kindred and Boy in Shark.”

The free event runs from 1pm to 8pm and there will be a barbecue, bouncy castle and children’s games.
