TOMORROWLAND

Released: May 22

For every child that is lucky enough to go to a Disney park (like myself to Orlando and Los Angeles multiple times) Tomorrowland was probably the themed area that stands out in memory the most, with the Space Mountain roller-coaster being the pinnacle of attractions.

And now – building on ride-based movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, and the rumoured It’s a Small World – acclaimed The Incredibles and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol director Brad Bird is bringing this magical land to life for the ‘House of Mouse’.

Written by World War Z and Lost scribe Damon Lindelof, this science-fiction adventure sees George Clooney star as genius inventor Frank Walker, who crosses paths with curious teenager Casey (Britt Robertson, star of forthcoming Nicholas Sparks romance The Longest Ride), and together they embark on a mission to unearth the secrets of this mystery place that exists somewhere in time and space.

SAN ANDREAS

Released: May 29

When it comes to Hollywood disaster movies they’re usually more ‘miss’ than ‘hit’ – but with reliable action-man Dwayne Johnson headlining, this could prove to be watchable blockbuster fare. In the aftermath of a massive earthquake in California – so large that the tremors can be heard on the East Coast – a rescue-chopper pilot (Johnson) makes a dangerous journey into the disaster zone in order to rescue his estranged daughter.
