Gavin Miller previews two of the biggest movies due out in November
GRAVITY: One of the most highly-anticipated films of the year finally makes it to these shores and is one of those rare films that MUST be seen in 3D if at all possible.
After a record-breaking October box-office showing Stateside – it has already amassed more than $200million – this intense thriller from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuaran sees Sandra Bullock’s medical engineer and George Clooney’s veteran astronaut battle for survival in deep space.
The duo have to work together after their shuttle is destroyed on a seemingly routine space walk – in this already critically-lauded heart-pounder.
Released: November 8
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE
The massively successful original ignited a box-office stampede and this sequel starring Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence (best actress for Silver Linings Playbook) could be even bigger.
After becoming victors at the Hunger Games, Katniss (Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) leave their friends and family to embark on a victor’s tour of the districts.
But with a rebellion simmering after their success, they become targets of the ruling hierarchy and President Snow (Donald Sutherland) is unhappy at their new iconic status.
Released: November 21
