The highly-acclaimed docu-film based on archived footage of Amy Winehouse’s life has now hit Showcase Cinemas.

The British five-time Grammy Award-winning songstress sadly passed away four years ago at the tender age of 27 years, after a long battle with drugs and alcohol.

The team behind the award-clinching Senna documentary (from Cannes-nominated director Asif Kapadia) has intricately pieced this together.

It hasn’t come without controversy – with Amy’s Dad Mitch claiming to have been unfairly misrepresented – but reviews have been very favourable for this movie which showcases footage and unheard tracks chronicling the ‘Fade to Black’ singer’s life.

As well as Mitch, the likes of Mark Ronson, Peter Doherty and Amy’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil are all featured – in arguably the biggest and most fascinating documentary to hit the big screen in quite some time.
