Live entertainment and plenty to buy at Fayre
Pedro the Clown juggling for the crowds at last year's Holbeach Christmas Fayre. (SG111212-135NG)
Roll up for the area’s biggest Christmas fair and fun day starting at 10am at Holbeach this Sunday.
Holbeach Christmas Fayre has built up a massive reputation, pulling in more than 8,000 people last year for the fancy dress shops opening, mini-fairground, Christmas, craft and farmers’ market.
High Street, Church Street, St John’s Street and Church Lane will be closed to traffic from 9am until 5pm, and you can park free all day in Boston Road and St John’s car parks.
The town’s new Christmas lights will be twinkling for the first time, but for technical reasons they’ll come on without a countdown to switch-on. John Hayes MP who usually enacts the ceremony will bein town anyway to meet and greet.
BBC Radio Lincolnshire will be there broadcasting live all day and announcing Santa’s arrival at his grotto around 12.30pm, where thanks to Holbeach Rotary’s collections, he’ll hand out children’s gifts free.
Expect live music, circus fun and street performers all day.
