A couple with a shared love of dancing have celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Fay and John Riley celebrated their golden wedding by renewing their vows at Holy Trinity Church, Gedney Hill.

Sharing a love for dancing, particularly rock ‘n roll, they met at a dance in 1959 and have been together ever since.

They married in Wisbech and have lived in Gedney Hill for 48 years.

Fay and John both play an active part in their community, having been involved in school, church and hall committees and organising dances at Gedney Hill Memorial Hall.

Fay has also been a member of the Women’s Institute for a number of years. Both Fay and John are members of the Whaplode Drove and District Bowls Club.

Following their renewal of vows, a reception was held at Gedney Hill Memorial Hall and enjoyed by family and friends.

Fay and John had requested donations instead of gifts to be shared between the Holy Trinity Church and the Gedney Hill Memorial Hall and were delighted that a total of £480 was received to donate to their chosen funds.

The couple thanked the Rev Richard Morrison for the service and their friends and family for their kind donations and for sharing a most enjoyable and memorable day with them.
