Ashwood Nursing and Care Home bid a fond farewell to much-loved nurse Jackie Worrica as she retired after 50 years in the profession.
Originally from Mauritius, Jackie came over to the UK in 1966 to start her nursing training at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital, where she worked until 1991.
She then moved to the Spalding area with her family, where she has lived ever since.
Jackie started working at the Hawthorne Nursing Home as a bank nurse in 1991, while also working for the NHS.
She joined Ashwood in 1998. The home is part of the Country Court Care Group and area manager Suria Webb said: “Jackie is an excellent nurse with a very caring attitude towards the people she cares for.
“I have worked with her at Ashwood and have found her very professional and a good team player.
“She has a wealth of skills and knowledge and has been a valuable support for the manager and her colleagues.
“Staff, residents and relatives speak very highly of her and she will be missed greatly by the whole team.”
Jackie’s passion is her allotment and, following her retirement from the Spalding Common home, she will spend more time there.
She also has a wide circle of friends and enjoys holidaying to various places around the world. The other love of her life are her two cats.
