Is washing your car a weekend chore you hate?

A trip to the car wash will never be the same after the luxury of sitting back and watching your local firefighters hosing down the soap suds.

As part of the National Car Wash for The Fire Fighters Charity, your local fire fighters will be in Homebase car park, Spalding, washing vehicles to raise funds.

A simple donation will buy you the pleasure and the money goes towards helping injured and recovering firefighters.

The Fire Fighters Charity is the UK’s leading provider of services offering physical rehabilitation and recuperation to serving and retired fire fighters, fire personnel and their families in times of need.

The charity also offers nursing care and short breaks for those who have suffered injury, illness, stress or bereavement.

The National Car Wash is the charity’s biggest fund raising event of the year.

The fun has taken place throughout March with fire fighters across the UK getting their hands wet.

In 2012 the charity raised over £345,000 through car wash events which took place in March and September.

Fifteen of our local fire fighters will be in the Homebase car park offering their services between 10am and 4pm on Saturday.

If you needed even more encouragement to donate, they will be in full uniform while they rub down your vehicle.
