The Farr family from Gosberton had been sextons, parish clerks and vergers within the church since 1756.
George (top centre) had been sexton and verger in the church for 30 years, following in the footsteps of his father, Robert, who had done the same for nearly 40 years before his death in 1885.
Charles (bottom centre), George’s fourth son, was the sexton and verger at the church in 1914.
Arthur, (right), was George’s fifth son, who held the positions in Moulton.
Walter (left), George’s third son, was a sexton and verger at St Mary’s Parish Church in Southend-on-Sea and he had detected a plot to destroy the church via the church organ.
