Spalding’s St Barnabas Hospice led the way with the charity’s annual Sunflower Memories Appeal by inviting families along to remember loved ones.

The hospice invited relatives and friends to make a small donation to “plant” a wooden sunflower bearing the name of a loved one who had died.

Those who attended were invited to take a “sunflower stroll” around the gardens before enjoying a barbecue.

Community fundraiser Vikki Allen said: “The weather was good and we had a nice couple of hours,

“The event is a small fund-raiser for St Barnabas but its more about giving people the chance to remember those they have lost.”
