AROUND £1,000 was raised towards the upkeep of Crowland Abbey at the sixth annual Christmas craft fair.

Some 300 visited the craft fair in the abbey to buy quality, handmade items such as wooden toys, turned wood items, jigsaws, jewellery, decorated glass and Christmas decorations.

There was local produce, meat and vegetables, as well as a fine selection of home made cakes, fruit juices and preserves.

Fair organiser Rosemary Briston said: “It’s a quality craft fair.

“With the weather and everything else, it was an excellent turnout.”
