HOLBEACH Hospital residents, staff and visitors enjoyed a fabulous first-time fair on Saturday.

Racing ferrets, agile dogs, classic cars and motorbikes, displays of wartime weapons and crafts such as spinning, weaving and dyeing were among the attractions.

Hospital manager Loraine Wigston said: “It was absolutely fantastic. We had a few showers but it didn’t deter us. We made well over £800.

“It’s the first event that we have held like this and we want to thank all of the exhibitors who supported us on the day as well as the many visitors who helped make it such a big success.”

Holbeach ice cream firm Laddies and Grasmere Farm were among the food outlets supporting the fair.

Mrs Wigston said the proceeds of the day will be spent to benefit patients and a meeting will be held soon to decide how best to do that.
