A number of local food and agricultural businesses have been showcasing the industry to tomorrow’s young workers.

Bakkavor, which has sites in Sutton Bridge, Holbeach St Marks, Spalding and Bourne, was exhibiting at The Food Sector Showcase, organised by Boston College.

Other exhibitors included organic producer Woodlands Farm, of Kirton, and Produce World, which operates out of Sutton Bridge.

Also represented was the Lincoln Red Cattle Society, representing one of the oldest native breeds.

Young people were able to see the great career opportunities open to them in both the fresh produce industry and agriculture, through seminars, demonstrations speakers and Q & A sessions.
