A wild fenland nature reserve just outside Spalding is in line for a big clean-up.
Staff from Lincolnshire Co-op will be heading to Willow Tree Fen Nature Reserve on Friday, June 26 to do their bit for the environment while thousands of colleagues from across the country are engaged in similar projects during the firm’s Big Co-op Clean.
The work at Willow Tree Fen, between Spalding and Baston, is one of seven projects in Lincolnshire and members of the public can join the Co-op staff on site from 10.30am if they first register on www.lincolnshire.coop/events or with the membership and community team on 01522 544632.
Coop community engagement manager Sam Turner said: “We hope people will be able to spare a couple hours of their time to help the local environment.”
• Willow Tree Fen is owned by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and its purchase in 2009 increased Lincolnshire’s wild fenland landscape by some 200 per cent.
