An energy company developing a massive wind farm in The Wash – and bringing its cables ashore at Sutton Bridge – is being asked to give a little back to the community.

DONG (Danish Oil and Natural Gas) is following in the footsteps of Centrica, which brought cables ashore by taking them underneath inter-tidal marshland off Sutton Bridge and through sea defences.

Sutton Bridge Parish Council decided at its meeting last week to ask DONG to fund new recreational facilities in the East Bank area, perhaps improving signs to the lighthouses, the Sir Peter Scott Walk and possibly provide an additional picnic area.
