MANY towns and villages are hosting special parties this year to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and many will be captured in photographs for posterity.

However, some of the images of this year’s special events could appear in The Life in Lincolnshire Photography Competition, organised by The Market House Photography Group at Long Sutton.

Chairman of the group Angela Reeve said: “We thought it an ideal time to relaunch the competition which we had run successfully in 2009 and 2010, especially with the Jubilee celebrations nearly upon us and also various places witnessing the Olympic torch in early July.

“The idea of the competition is to capture the best image of a south Lincolnshire scene, whether it be a working image, leisure or pleasure. Anything goes as long as it is taken in south Lincolnshire between January 1 and July 31, 2012.”

Competitiors can enter up to four images unmounted. There are two categories: juniors (16 and under) and adults, and there will be three prizes in each category. All entries will be professionally judged.

Angela added: “All images entered into the competition will be displayed at our annual exhibition which takes place on September 8 and 9 at the Market House, Long Sutton.”

Competition entry forms and rules are available to download from www.longsuttonmarkethouse.org or alternatively call reception on 01406 366767.
