A team of twelve JWDoubleday employees successfully competed in this year’s Rat Race Dirty Weekend at Burghley House, Stamford.

On a cold and windy day in May, the race consisted of running a monstrous 20 mile course and tackling 200 obstacles along the way.

The course was extremely tough both mentally and physically, with the team from the agricultural machinery suppliers having to endure swimming through ice cold reservoirs, crawling through muddy bogs, leaping off a 20ft jump and pushing through the aches and pains.

The team managed to cross the finish line all together in a respectable time of just over eight hours.

The Doubleday team managed to raise £13,141.06 on the day of the picture, with an extra £880 being donated after, taking the total raised to an amazing £14,021.06.

All proceeds were raised in aid of Children with Cancer UK, the leading national charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer.

The team say a massive thank you to everybody who supported and kindly donated towards such a great cause which enabled the team to raise almost triple their fundraising target. The generosity has been overwhelming.

“The support of our friends, family, colleagues, customers and associates filled us with the motivation we needed and knowing that it was all for such a worthwhile cause pushed us to the finish line”.
