ABOUT 400 visitors attended the open evening arranged by University Academy Holbeach to help youngsters decide on their future schooling.
The evening visit followed an open day when Year 6 pupils were given guided tours by Year 10 students, and were able to visit classes in action. The academy’s pupils also acted as guides in the evening, following a talk from principal Steve Baragwanath, who spoke about the academy, its facilities and exam results. He also talked about the two-year building project due for completion in the summer of 2013, which he said would not disrupt the current Holbeach site.
A programme of events had been laid on for youngsters to introduce them to the various subjects offered by the academy, such as quizzes, language software and hair and beauty demonstrations.
