The annual Agilitas Sports primary school Tri-Golf tournament took place at the Sir John Gleed school in Spalding.
St John’s School in Spalding took first place with Baston Primary School coming in second and Surfleet Primary School third.
Weston Hills Primary School came fourth, Moulton Chapel fifth, Pinchbeck sixth, Spalding Primary School seventh and Gosberton House eighth.
Tri Golf is an excellent entry game for golf with oversized putters and pitching wedges. The children made their way around eight activity stations where they received coaching from Year 12 students from the Post 16 centre.
They scored points for each pitching and putting station – however the fairness of the competitors was also rewarded. This meant the children improved upon their sportsmanship. They had a fantastic time, improving on their golfing skills significantly.
School Games organiser Rupert Gibson was delighted with the standard of coaching from the Year 12 students.
St John’s will now be invited to represent South East Lincolnshire at the Summer School Games next month.
