PUPILS at Gosberton Primary School are studying transport and a big part of the world on wheels, not to mention four legs, came through the school gates for them to inspect.

There was a police van, a tractor, a car, bikes and skateboards – as well as a pony and a dinghy.

Year two teacher Lynne Evans said: “We just rang around the parents and the services.

“We wanted a fire engine to come too but they were out on a shout.”

Mrs Evans has thanked everyone who helped out with the school’s “wow day”, which is how teachers describe impressive starts to study projects.

Forty children aged four to seven years are involved in the transport studies.
