A Whaplode nursery can go on educating youngsters in the grounds of a farm after support from South Holland District Council.
Members of its planning committee unanimously voted in favour of granting permission to Button Moon Childcare, based at Home Farm, Mill Gate, Whaplode, during a meeting last Wednesday.
This looks like a very child-friendly development, in nice surroundings for children to be educated inCoun Christine Lawton, South Holland District Council
A report prepared for the meeting said: “The nursery has been operating since 2009 and currently has a maximum of nine children, with no plans to increase numbers.
“There has been no significant detrimental harm caused to the landscape and character of the area in the last seven years and the nursery provides rural communities with choice, as well as it being an effective reuse of land.
“The principle of the change of use is acceptable.”
Coun Christine Lawton, who supported the application, said: “This looks like a very child-friendly development, in nice surroundings for children to be educated in.
“Whaplode Parish Council has made no objections and so I welcome it.”
