KIND-hearted students in Holbeach have ditched their school uniforms for a day to help raise funds to help a toddler with cystic fibrosis.

The University Academy Holbeach students, led by 15-year-old George Stainfield, helped to collect more than £700 by taking part in a non-uniform day in aid of George’s nephew Stanley.

Stanley was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when he was three weeks old. His family are currently fundraising to buy him a physiotherapy jacket to help with his vital daily treatment, which will cost about £6,000.

Mum Sadie, of Northampton, hopes events will also now take place at her former school, Spalding High School, and Boston Grammar School, where her brother Harry is a pupil.

She said: “I am absolutely delighted and thankful to the headteachers who have allowed these non-uniform days in aid of Stanley.”

Anyone who would like to make a donation towards Stanley’s jacket should email sadiestainfield@hotmail.co.uk.
