We want to give something back by recognising a school for doing something excellent over the last year

PSP IT chief executive officer Joe Verde

Taking place at South Holland Centre, Spalding, on Thursday, November 12, one infant, junior or primary school will be recognised for its innovation, dedication and effort in giving pupils and the wider community the best education possible.

This year’s winner will succeed Spalding Parish Church of England Day School whose headteacher Glyn Rushton described the award as a “wonderful acknowledgement” of the work done by pupils, staff, parents and governors towards making it an Ofsted-rated outstanding school.

PSP IT, founded by chief executive officer Joe Verde and chief technical officer Brett Caruso in 2008, provides website, intranet and custom-made IT services for sectors such as chartered institutions, manufacturing, legal and local authorities.

Mr Verde said: “The surprise of being named Business of the Year was amazing and it gave our business a fantastic feel-good factor.

“Now we want to give something back by recognising a school for doing something excellent over the last year and sponsoring the School of the Year (Primary) Award is the right thing to do.

“We hope the school that wins will experience the same kind of feeling we got from being named South Holland Business of the Year 2014.”
