Students from the Sir John Gleed School in Spalding put on a special VE Day-themed event for Age UK residents in the town.
The students raised funds via sales of cakes along with gifts for both Mother’s and Father’s day in order to put on a “street party” for the elderly.
The event featured bingo and a raffle, as well as food made by students at the school and performances also by students.
Nina Prowting, Health and Social Care teacher at the school, said: “The day was organised by 22 Health and Social Care students.
“We wanted to focus on the elderly and hoped that a VE Day theme might inspire some memories of childhood for our guests.
“The main reason the students wanted to do it was to show that they do actually care about the elderly.
“The students were outstanding and they gained a lot from the day, and interacted a lot with the elderly too.”
