THE work of students at Spalding Grammar School was justly rewarded, according to headteacher Nigel Ryan.

THE work of students at Spalding Grammar School was justly rewarded, according to headteacher Nigel Ryan.

The top ten students achieved results ranging from Alex Hall, whose three A* and one A have ensured he will go to Warwick to study Maths, to Joe Neaverson’s three As that will allow him to study Pharmacy at UEA Norwich.

Mr Ryan said: “This cohort has recovered from AS results that were not strong and the vast majority of students who applied to university have secured a place. We wish all our students the very best in what is likely to be testing times as they establish their careers.”

Alex, of Lucerne Close, Spalding, admitted he wasn’t expecting to do quite as well as he had done while Joe, of St James Road, Long Sutton, achieved results that will comfortably secure him a place at his chosen university.

Daniel Rix, of The Chantry, Spalding, found his grades weren’t as good as he would have liked, although his A*, three As and one B have seen him safely into University College London to study Medicine.

Will Coley, of Bell Lane, Moulton, was “ecstatic” at his three As and one B – better than he hoped for. Will is now off to Nottingham to study mechanical engineering.

Tom Shores, of Alexandra Road, Spalding, will read Classics at Durham having achieved three As, while Brad East, who comes from Wisbech, was feeling good after learning he had one A*, one A and two Bs and now has his sights set on a law course at Aberdeen.
