PUPILS at Spalding’s St Norbert’s Primary School got the chance to get behind the steering wheel, quite literally, when Jumicar came to their school.
Jumicar is a company which aims to provide children with a fun and practical experience to learn about the roads.
In honour of road safety awareness week, children from reception through to Year 6 got the chance to get behind the steering wheel so they could experience road safety awareness in a safe and practical environment.
While driving, pupils had to steer round a mini road circuit complete with road signs and working traffic lights, whilst completing any other obstacles that may come their way.
They also learned how to cross the road from the age-old mantra “Stop, look, listen.”
Teacher India Whyles said: “It was a richer learning experience with a practical element to it too.
“The pupils found it very enjoyable and had a greatl learning experience.”
