The Peele Community College in Long Sutton helped Christmas to come a little earlier for 70 senior citizens.
The old folk were treated to a delicious Christmas lunch at the college, followed by an afternoon of festive music provided by the students.
The Christmas lunch with all the trimmings was prepared by the canteen manager, Joan Childs, and her team, and was served by a number of student volunteers, together with some administrative staff.
Many of the visitors went home with raffle prizes which had been donated by the kitchen staff.
It was a wonderful party atmosphere with members of Year 11’s BTEC Performing Arts group leading the Christmas concert, together with several other students from every year group.
All the visitors were very complimentary of how the students presented themselves, and they were happy to join in the singing.
Betty Boor, the college’s business manager, organised the event, and she thankedall the
students involved, as well as the admin support staff and the kitchen staff, for making the event such a great success.
