CHILDREN from St Norbert’s Roman Catholic Primary School got crafty and creative when pumpkin producer David Bowman Ltd sent a big consignment of the orange fruits to their Spalding school.

Pupils carved, painted and decorated their pumpkins – and prizes were given to the best before the children were allowed to take them home in time to take part in last Friday night’s Spalding Pumpkin Parade.

Big eyes and big toothy grins featured in many of the children’s designs.

Some of the pumpkins were given fancy headgear, including a pirate pumpkin who wore a skull and crossbones hat and was also adorned with a matching black eye patch. And one very creative youngster carved a spider design in her pumpkin.
