Exactly 200 years after the defeat of Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo, the Priory School in Spalding commemorated the event by staging their own battle.

Five allied teams and five French teams competed in events such as rowing, football, tag rugby, wellie wanging and transferring water using wellies full of holes. There had been a quiz about Wellington in the week leading up to the event and several pupils wore decorated wellingtons. On this occasion, the French were successful but a great time was had by all.
