Spalding High School students showcased their work in the ‘Exhibition ‘16’ show this week.

It was designed to celebrate the outstanding creative achievements and hard work demonstrated by the GCSE, AS and A2 students currently studying Art and Design, Food and Nutrition, Textiles and Product Design.

Students welcomed the chance to discuss their work with all who attended. Headmistress Michele Anderson said: “The quality of art and technology work achieved by our students never ceases to amaze me.

“The depth of technical skill and application of the design process that the students display in their products are in many cases, of commercial level quality.

As for the art work; who needs to visit a London Gallery when you can spend an incredibly happy hour or two studying the range of artistic pieces that were on display?

“There was certainly something for everyone and I cannot thank the staff enough for mounting such a wonderfully professional exhibition.”

Head of Textiles Vivienne Flowers added: “We are absolutely delighted to say that the standard of work achieved by both GCSE and A level Textiles is outstanding. All pieces in the exhibition are very creative and our students have worked very hard to achieve a high standard of finish.

“We had some wonderful compliments throughout the evening from visitors of all age groups. We are already thinking about next year’s exhibition and look forward to working with students in the next academic year.”
