Spalding’s Sir John Gleed School held open house so 120 prospective pupils from local primary schools could see what’s on offer.
Assistant headteacher Anthony Grunwell said youngsters had parents with them so it was a busy evening as they looked around demonstrations and displays in subjects such as maths, art, science and IT.
Visitors also watched cookery demonstrations in the canteen known as Cafe Central.
He said: “We had some very positive and really encouraging comments from potential students and parents.
“We are very, very pleased.”
The school opened the following day for guided tours so parents could watch it at work and Mr Grunwell says he will take visitors around any time if they make an appointment on 01775 722702.
